Nigeria–Australia Business Council Signs Trade Facilitation MoU

The Nigeria–Australia Business Council has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigerian trade agencies, aimed at streamlining trade facilitation and investment promotion between the two countries.
The agreement was welcomed by the Nigeria High Commission, Canberra, as a significant step toward deepening commercial ties and reducing barriers for businesses seeking to trade and invest between Nigeria and Australia.
What the MoU covers
The Memorandum sets out a framework for cooperation across several areas, including:
- Joint trade missions and business-to-business matchmaking events
- Information-sharing on regulatory and market-entry requirements
- Support for small and medium enterprises seeking to export or invest
- Regular dialogue between chambers of commerce in both countries
“This partnership reflects the growing appetite on both sides for stronger commercial engagement,” said a spokesperson for the Trade & Investment desk at the High Commission. “We encourage Nigerian and Australian businesses alike to take advantage of the opportunities this framework will help unlock.”
