New Appointment Booking System Now Live for Passport Applications

The Nigeria High Commission, Canberra, has introduced a new online appointment booking system for passport and consular services, aimed at reducing waiting times and improving the overall experience for applicants.
Under the new system, applicants for standard passports, Emergency Travel Certificates, NIN enrolment and document certification services can now select an available appointment slot online rather than relying solely on walk-in attendance.
What this means for applicants
The Mission expects the new system to significantly reduce congestion at the Chancery and give applicants greater certainty about when their application will be processed. Key benefits include:
- Choice of appointment date and time slot
- Confirmation and reminder notifications
- Reduced in-person waiting times
- Clearer guidance on documents required before arrival
Applicants are strongly encouraged to book an appointment ahead of visiting the Chancery. Walk-in applicants will continue to be accommodated where capacity allows, but priority will be given to those with confirmed appointments.
