Strengthening Trade Relations between Nigeria and Australia

As part of the Renewed Hope Agenda of H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Mission's ongoing commitment to strengthening trade relations between Nigeria and Australia, H.E. Amb. Dr Olufemi O. Pedro had the pleasure of meeting with Daniel Boyer, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (AUSTRADE), in Canberra on 21 July 2026.

The discussions focused on building strategic partnerships across key sectors, including agriculture, mining, oil and gas, and renewable energy. The meeting was highly productive, and both sides reached broad agreement on several important areas of mutual interest.

This engagement marks another significant step toward deepening economic cooperation, and Amb. Dr Olufemi O. Pedro is confident that Nigeria–Australia trade relations are poised for a major boost in the years ahead.
